EXT 600 Micro dots solar protection film

EXT 600 Micro dots solar protection film

Solar protection film with microdot technology for interior applications in grey

The EXT 600 solar protection film is specially crafted to be applied to windows, effectively reducing heat and glare from the sun. This film brings a remarkable enhancement in comfort to sun- exposed rooms, all thanks to its non-reflective microdot technology. It impressively rejects 52% of solar energy, equivalent to 359 Watt/m2. Not only does it align seamlessly with the HQE sustainability approach, but it also ensures interior privacy while allowing clear visibility without being seen from outside. Furthermore, it maintains the original aesthetics of buildings, making it a prime choice for locations like airports, historical structures, and areas where reflective films are prohibited. Its lack of mirror-like reflection also ensures the exterior appearance of buildings remains unaltered.

Composition of Heat Protection Films

Adhesive solar protection films are composed of two layers of vacuum-metallized polyester, featuring an adhesive layer and a protective film that is removed during installation. These films are also treated to be scratch-resistant.

Solar Factor

The solar factor (G) of a window pane represents the ratio of total energy entering a room through the pane to the incident solar energy. This total energy comprises both the solar energy entering through direct transmission and the energy emitted by the glazing to the interior environment due to heat absorption.

Greenhouse Effect

When solar energy penetrates a room through windows, it gets absorbed by objects and interior walls, which subsequently heat up and emit thermal radiation, primarily in the far-infrared range (wavelengths greater than 5 μm). Glazing, including clear glazing, is nearly impermeable to radiation with wavelengths exceeding 5 μm. As a result, the solar energy entering through the glazing becomes trapped within the room, leading to an increase in temperature. This phenomenon is commonly known as the « greenhouse effect, » akin to what is observed in a car parked in direct sunlight with closed windows.
