Solar Protection – Silver Points – Special for Summer and Winter

The SOL 148 solar protection film has been designed for application on windows to reduce heat and glare caused by sunlight. It plays a significant role in enhancing comfort and conserving energy by decreasing the need for air conditioning. Thanks to its micro-dot technology, it stands out as the sole film capable of rejecting more heat during summer than in winter.

Composition of Heat-Resistant Films Adhesive solar protection films consist of two layers of vacuum-metallized polyester, an adhesive layer, and a protective film that is removed during installation. These films are treated to resist scratches.
Solar Factor The solar factor (G) of a window is the ratio between the total energy entering a room through the window and the incident solar energy. This total energy includes both the solar energy entering through direct transmission and the energy emitted by the window into the interior environment due to its heat absorption.
Greenhouse Effect Solar energy that enters a room through a window is absorbed by objects and interior walls, which, in turn, re-emit thermal radiation primarily in the far-infrared range (greater than 5 μm). Windows, even clear ones, are virtually impermeable to radiation with wavelengths greater than 5 μm. Consequently, the solar energy entering through the window becomes trapped in the room, leading to an increase in temperature. This phenomenon is known as the « greenhouse effect, » similar to what occurs in a car parked in direct sunlight with the windows closed.
